What safaris do you run, and how much do they cost?
Our half-day safari (around 3 hours) costs £60 per adult and £40 per child under 16. Our full-day safari (around 7 hours) costs £140 per adult and £80 per child, and usually stops at a country inn for lunch (not included) or you can bring a picnic. Tours run Tuesday to Sunday.
What will we see?
We take you off road in our Land Rover 110 Defender along seldom-frequented tracks and ancient byways in search of red deer and Exmoor ponies in their natural habitat, pointing out the fauna, flora and historical sites with stops for photography. Your guide Daphne is Exmoor born and bred, so expect local legends alongside the wildlife.
How many people can come, and where do we meet?
Group bookings run from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 8 people. We pick up from Dunster, Wheddon Cross (leaving 9.15am) and Exford (9.30am), with an evening summer service from 5.30pm available by arrangement. Book at least two weeks ahead - a 50% deposit confirms your date, with the balance due two weeks before.
What should we wear and bring?
Sturdy outdoor footwear and clothing for any weather - bring a waterproof just in case. Safaris go ahead in all weather except snow. Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a nominal fee.
Is it suitable for a hen weekend?
A safari makes a memorable, laid-back hen day out on the moor - just bear in mind our maximum group size is 8. If your party is bigger, contact Daphne on 07977 571494 to talk options.
