What does The Wild Swimming Co. offer a group?
We run guided wild swimming experiences along the Dorset and New Forest coast, led by expert local guides and qualified lifeguards. from sociable guided dips to bespoke group day experiences and multi-day swimming challenges.
Can we book a private day experience for our group?
Yes. Our bespoke Dorset day experiences cost £250 for a group of five, or £49 per person for groups of six or more. We tailor the day to your group. coastal swims, iconic landmarks and hidden swim spots. with guides and lifeguard support throughout.
What is the Castle to Castle Challenge?
It is a three-day guided coastal swim from Highcliffe Castle in Dorset to Hurst Castle in Hampshire, covering around 12km in daily 3-4km swims, with lifeguards, support boats and cake at the finish. The 2026 challenge runs 5-7 June from £149 per person, and you need to be able to swim 1km confidently.
Is there anything gentler for beginners?
Yes. We run introductions to wild swimming and sociable events like Fish n' Dips. fish and chips by the water followed by a guided swim. At Castle Lake (Dorset Adventure Park, Corfe Castle) lake swimming costs £9 per person on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, with swim-and-sauna at £16.
Do you run events we can join as a group?
Our Wild Swimming Festival at Swanage (July 2026) is free to attend, with bookable guided swims, the Jurassic Swim Challenge, snorkelling and sauna sessions. groups can book places on the sessions that suit them.
How safe is it for mixed-ability swimmers?
All of our swims are led by qualified guides and lifeguards who plan around tides and conditions. Some challenges set a minimum swim standard (1km for Castle to Castle), while day experiences and lake sessions are tailored to your group's ability.
When do the wild swims run?

I attended the wild swim festival in Swannage in July 2026. Wow. It was fabulous. Easy check in. Lots to see and do. Great music. Fabulous atmosphere. The swim. Fabulous. Lots of life guards. Easy to follow the route. Will defo be back again.

I booked a group swim to Old Harry’s Rocks. Something all of us wanted to do as a challenge. Rich and Mel were brilliant, we felt informed and safe throughout. The cake was amazing and we explored Old Harry’s Rocks. Highly recommend and will book again.

Mel and Rich organise and host the most wonderful retreats. This was my second time on the Dorset swim retreat, and it didn't disappoint. I've returned home, delightfully relaxed and full of memories of what was a weekend, but felt like far longer with the amount of brilliant opportunities to swim, walk, talk with like-minded humans, challenge ourselves, eat delicious food prepared by Mel and decompress in beautiful surroundings. Thank you Rich, Mel and Becky. I will be back.😁😍🏊🏊♀️🧜♀️
