About Treasure Hunt Oxford
What makes this a great fit for your hen weekend
Treasure Hunt Oxford is a self-guided treasure hunt through the dreaming spires. rated a perfect 5.0 from over 90 reviews, played at your own pace in daylight. Rounds run two to two and a half hours, in teams of up to six: split the hen party, set the rivalry, and follow clues past the colleges and quads you'd otherwise have wandered by obliviously.
Self-guided means zero scheduling tyranny. start whenever the group has recovered from brunch, pause for coffee, sprint the finish. It's sightseeing disguised as a competition, which is the only way to make hens look at architecture voluntarily.
The bride's team gets a head start by royal decree. Those are the rules.
Clues, colleges and competitive chaos: Treasure Hunt Oxford is the city's cleverest hen afternoon.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Oxford treasure hunt?
We turn Oxford into your playground. It is a self-guided city adventure - like a walking tour crossed with an escape room - played via your phones. Follow our maps and solve clever clues by hunting for answers on plaques, statues and quirky corners, seeing the big sights and uncovering hidden gems along the way.
How much does it cost?
It normally costs £12.50 + VAT per person. At weekends, our Weekend Group Offer lets 6 people play in one team for just £30.
How long does it take, and when can we start?
Most hunts take 2-3 hours without breaks; Oxford typically takes 2 to 2.5 hours. There is no guide and no fixed start time - start whenever you like during daylight hours, and pause for coffee or a pint whenever you fancy.
Do we need to book in advance?
Small groups can book and start playing immediately. If you are a larger group, please book early so we can make sure you are not overlapping other big groups - you can always cancel later.
Is it suitable for a hen party?
Yes - it is designed primarily for adults, with cryptic clues and tricky language, and we recommend it for ages 13+ with strong English. It is an entirely outdoor activity and dog-friendly, and we suggest dog-friendly pubs and cafes along the route.
Who runs the hunts?

What a great game. It was the perfect mix of walking, sight seeing and puzzles. Having a nice pub to stop at halfway is ingenious as we were flagging by that point in the insane heat. Occasionally one of our phones would lose all signal so I'd say it's not a game to play solo as you need the back up of another phone but all in wouldn't hesitate to recommend and in fact we are already looking at other cities we can have a bash at it in!

Very much enjoyed our Treasure Hunt Oxford Felt the clues where tough enough to make it challenging and a great way to wander and discover Oxford.

Great day walking around Oxford! Make sure the phones are on different networks as certain areas are no signal zones and caused a delay but such fun and great places visited! This was our third hunt with the team and can’t wait for the next !!!
